Here we will keep you up to speed with what’s on at The Georgian House and also in Alderney.  There is always something going on here whether it is Paella and cider evenings in our garden, taster menus in the Orangery, Fish Festivals, Golf competitions and the infamous Alderney Week...

What’s on at The Georgian House

We like to keep things varied for you.  So on top of our standard menus we will be bringing you an array of offers and special menus.

Here are some of our ideas so far with further details still to come.

  • Moules Frites and Cidre Brut lunch for two – come for lunch any day and you can while away an afternoon over a vat of Moules Mariniere washed down with a bottle of tasty Normandy Cidre Brut
  • Paella and Sangria – on a warm summer’s evening our chef will be manning our giant paella pan in the garden.  A hearty helping of paella packed with local fish and a jug of chilled sangria - what better way to spend a summer’s evening?
  • Taster Menu evenings – every now and again our chefs would like the chance to really show off!  For all you foodies out there, these evenings will be happening every couple of weeks in the Orangery
  • Barbeques – whenever the sun is shining we will bring out the BBQ.  Homemade burgers, local steak and fish will be available accompanied with a selection of seasonal salads and your tipple of choice
  • Wine Tastings – if you interested in wine and want to learn more then we will be hosting the odd tasting to sample a selection of wine from our list each coupled with suitable nibbles
  • The Georgian lunch and supper menu – on those off peak quiet week days we will be offering a 3 course lunch and supper menu which changes daily and at great value
  • Catch and Cook – a chance for fish lovers to go out and catch their own fish and then have one of our chefs cook it for you just as you like
  • Cinema nights – with the cinema just across the road at intervals we will be there to quench your thirst and have Kiln Farm ice cream pots and popcorn at the ready!
  • Beach hamper to take away – when you want to hit the beach but not miss out on a Georgian crab sandwich, we have just the solution.  We will have a list of picnic goodies for you to choose from and prepare a Georgian picnic hamper for you to take away

What’s On in Alderney

There are a number of dates coming up in 2011 to put in the diary. 

Ones not to be missed are the Fish Festival and Alderney Wildlife Festival week in May;  Flower shows and Golf Championships in June; Alderney Week in August; and the Half Marathon, Hill Climb and Air Races in September.
