We can hardly believe we have been up and running for 5 weeks now, they have just whizzed by! We have had a somewhat fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants yet fantastic first month. We found our rhythm after a week or two and now have a great new lunch menu, plenty of fresh ideas, new suppliers and 5 functions (including a 12 course Taster Menu wedding) under our belts.

We are now turning our thoughts to the summer starting off with celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We have a fun-filled weekend ahead of our at The Georgian come rain or shine including:

Best of Bristish/Alderney Menus every evening - £24.50, amuse bouche, cocktail a la Hamish, 3 courses

Saturday - announcement of the winner of the cheese weighing, Mad Hatter's Tea party of cocktails and cakes

Sunday - Mini Country Fayre with a hog roast, 8 real ales and ciders, traditional games, general madness

Monday - Live Music from 4.30pm from various Channel Islands musicians

We also have a couple of competitions to take part in, it's not too late! Guess the weight of our cheddar (last entries by 7pm) all the way from the Isle of Mull and win a whole keg for you to enjoy at your leisure over the weekend. Bake us a cake for our tea party on Saturday and Chris our pastry chef will be judging over the course of the afternoon for a copy of the Humming Bird Bakery book and a baking lesson with Chris.

We look forward to celebrating with you and the rest of the UK. Let's just hope the weather holds out...
